20,000 leagues under the sink

Oyster Man and I signed a lease on a beautiful one bedroom in Park Slope this week. Well its kind of Park Slope… or South Slope… some people call it Windsor Terrace…. my geography professor found himself scratching his head too. The point is that we’re 3.5 blocks away from Prospect Park and its just in time for Celebrate Brooklyn.

We have big plans to entertain and while we have no shortage of things to make food with (we’ve got everything from a dehydrator and an electric mandolin to a deep-fryer and a sandwich press), it turns out we’re coming up short on things to serve on.

Considering Oyster Man sells oysters and has a bizarre affinity for cephalopods, we decided to go for a nautical theme… but more in a 20,000 leagues under the sea kind of way. So here are some inspirational bits.

I’ve been collecting ideas from Jonathan Adler, Lisel Ashlock, Anthropologie, and a few items we already have which fit right in… like oyster man’s antique barometer.

See you at sea!
